Is this any different then paying one month extra payment anytime during first year ( or anytime) where all amount goes towards principal?

interest is paid in arrears, so when you pay it off, you DO end up paying that interest. not "saving" anything.

Thoughts on putting 5% down then after 60 days paying the other 15% toward principal only vs 20% down?

I donated to Goshen College, and when I filed my taxes, I received more then the amount I donated off on my taxes. Can you explain how to use this?

NO NO NO! Always put extra money in an investment that earns a higher interest rate than the mortgage. You'll make much more that way. Basic math.

Wow, I could pay more down and and then I pay less in interest. Who cares what rate my investments get, not this guy.

well said, simple and truthful. I've heard similar things with taxes and preplanning for them, only on a year to year basis though.

You can actually skip 2 months. I’ve purchased two homes now and have both times had two months before having to make the first payment
