My 1st grade teacher had a turtle and a chinchilla that I was responsible for taking care of. One day, the chinchilla got loose and we had to search the whole school for it 🤣

I think the only time any of my teachers had a class pet was the ap bio teacher who had 2 rats and later on she had fish.

Uhhh goldfish live up to 20 years. It’s not a disposable class pet or something that doesn’t last long, it’s a living creature.

I don’t have a class pet. However, the science teacher across the hall that I LOVE has fish, a danger noodle(snake) and 2 guinea pigs

My kids have had fish. Their school had a bunny in the sensory room. They also have hatched ducks and the ducks lived at the school.

In 2nd grade our teacher got the class a hissing cockroach. It was louder than she thought and even louder when it escaped lol

there was a bird that lived in our geometry teachers ceiling until my sophomore year it died in the ceiling and one of the kids took it outside

My geometry teacher hatches twenty chicken/duck eggs in an incubator in her classroom every year. Then she lets everyone keep a chick on their desks during class.
