Technically the plastic piece is only for assembly purposes to keep it together. The tension from the lifters will keep the rocker in place.

It’s a lifter/cam lobe, not the plastic clip that retains the rocker to the base.

Those are for Install only. It will do it again. They do NOTHING WHILE ENGINE IS ASSEMBLED AND RUNNING.
