People that only sing your praises and don’t challenge you on your weaknesses will never help you get anywhere except for deeper into your own delusions. Make sure the people around you are there to challenge you to push harder, work on the things that need more attention, tell you the honest truth when you need it. I really feel there are so many “yes-men” in bodybuilding whether it’s coaches unnecessarily gassing up their clients or people blowing smoke just to suck up to someone they like, or even people that just don’t have an eye for it but want to be positive (which is totally okay and great). However, remember that people will always be nice and tell you that you look good in your prep whether you’re on track or not. You have to make sure that your close circle is giving you honest feedback and not just blowing your head up making you think you can ease off the gas. So thankful for my team that’s supportive but also honest and real with me because they genuinely want me to be better. 👌🏼
