Tropes are valuable building blocks. Because they can be combined in nearly infinite permutations I don’t feel that they spoil large plots.

Yeah I hope this trend ends one day. I like to read books based on comparative titles and jacket blurbs. Movie trailer analogy is on point.

Even some blurbs on the back of books spoil the whole book. I think some people share too much and then the book feels predictable
