@teamhootpolevault: My only criteria for being a pole vaulter is that you land in the pit and survive to take another jump. I've seen 3 year old vaulters all the way up to 90 year old vaulters and everything in-between. And what do they all have in common? They're all trying to solve the pole vault puzzle. By getting a little deeper in the pit, holding a little higher, clearing that next bar etc. We all have that in common! With that said, you don't even have to vault to be a vaulter. I've known people who have never pole vaulted but helped people land in the pit and survive to take another jump. To me, they're just as much a pole vaulter as the person running with a stick. Either way, we're all trying to solve this fun puzzle. Try to keep this in mind. Whether you're jumping 19 feet or 3 feet, we're all on the same journey looking for that next puzzle piece.
