@jamesmiddletoncoach: Running slowly‼️ I’m talking 40-50% max effort. I’m a 6ft2, 220lb guy. Running was never my forté. I used to feel like a baby rhino in trainers. I’d go out and run hard every time. It was miserable. I never understood how people enjoyed it. Then I realised not only is it way more pleasant running slow, but you also feel good the whole time, it helps improve your base fitness levels hugely and it’s much easier to get out the door if you know you’re not running hard for ages. Whether you’re a beginner or advanced runner, always schedule in some slow runs: longer ones, shorter ones. They are GOOD for you. Of course you still want to have some faster runs and interval training too if you’re serious about improving your running, but relish the slower paced ones 🐌 Take in your surroundings, breathe that air deep into your lungs and you’ll start to enjoy it a lot more.
