I live in TX and ride year round. I blanket in order to keep her coat from growing so that she can dry quickly when she gets sweaty on the colder days

Blankets don’t stop coats from growing. It’s there breeding. My peppy San doesn’t have a hair coat. I blanket the other mare hairs up in august

My only issue is here in Minnesota it can snow like that and be warm enough it melts fast on there coat then the sun drops and it’s freezing and wet
