The only valid reason is keeping it on for NICU moms because some hospitals will let you go home while your baby stays but they will ask you to keep

I kept them on for a few days after I was out of the hospital because it was needed for the NICU but once they knew me they were off

My babies were in the nicu for 11 days and I needed my bracelet to get in and visit them but cut it off the sec they were discharged.
