The cost of tuition has risen exponentially since government began guarenteeing student loans. Availability expanded in 1980. Get govt out of the loan business- problem solved.

I got accepted to a really good college, which I declined due to the price. After looking up the total cost, it would have been $311k. With a loan, that would be maybe $500k total with more than a $4k
