Had the same problem at Best Buy - I left the broken tv in the store and disputed the charge with the card company - got my money back in less than 2 days.

This would be no issue and we’d make it right for the customer at my store. The only time we don’t take back damaged TVs is if they choose to improperly transport it home.They have to fill out a forum

As a distributer in the retail chain, Best Buy should accept the return and file a claim with the manufacture rather than putting the burden on the customer who purchased the TV in the good faith.

These places have this policy because of Super Bowl. People would buy the large screens for the game and then return it and they’d sometimes return it damaged from the rager fans

I had to exchange a laptop I didn’t even have for a week and they refused to do it because I didn’t have a charger and round trip is 3hrs. Waisted so much gas and time for a charger to exchange….

This goes the same to most places if you decide to haul it home yourself. Which is why they offer free home deliveries if you’re local. Not sure about long distance deliveries tho.
