It has to be both - a tough stance on crime but also investments in communities. Those investments takes years tho to see any results.

Be harsher on crimes, remove for-profit prisons, make prisons places that genuinely reform criminals, and work to build up communities where crime is rampant.

A lot of good points made, and that’s why it’s a systemic issue not an acute or simple issue. There is not one solution. They need multiple changes.
