they both stay closed for warm up then starts moving coolant to the RAD at 194 and then opens the other to flow more at 204

It makes it easier to regulate the temperature. the heat of the engine has to be optimal to have proper combustion

When pulling and transmission reaches a certain temp, the second one opens to cool transmission down 🤷🏻

So with a smaller stat it can regulate flow more precisely. If you’re not loaded and it’s cold out it’s difficult to keep the engine hot.

2005 6.0 had EGR delete. Nothing else done. Have to turn key to on position and wait 45 seconds before starting or it continues to spin over
