Told Frenchie my love language was quality time, but somehow I also struggle with it because I’m so independent. I like to do activities alone, but still share a space. He thought I wouldn’t want to see him if he couldn’t pay full attention to me, and I didn’t want to have to give up my alone time, so we had not been spending much time together consistently. He started asking me if I would read over at his place while he studied. When that started to become regular, I told him I couldn’t keep doing it as my dog was home alone. So he told me to bring the dog. I mentioned I don’t write anymore, so he now alternates between telling me to bring a book or a pen. In between studying he crawled into bed eager to read what I wrote. I’ve never seen him look more like a little boy than when he turned to me and says “You really aren’t upset I’m working? 🥺” There are few things I love more than “alone” time to do the things I enjoy, and hearing/seeing people thrive in their passions. This is the first time I have not had to ever ask to see someone. The first time someone has asked my preferences and then catered to them. I could get used to this whole gentle love thing.
