LET’S TALK ABOUT IT ⤵️ I get it. 130 calories…granola deemed as a healthy carb…it sounds like a great choice, right? Well, let’s break it down from a science perspective. Carbs, especially refined carbs, without the presence of fiber or protein, will spike up blood sugar (even if it’s deemed as a “healthier option.” When blood sugar spikes, it signals to your body to create more insulin, and oftentimes “over-corrects,” making too much. And what goes up, must come down. So that blood sugar spike? It ends up crashing down. This pattern of eating overtime is what creates “metabolic dysfunction.” And this metabolic dysfunction is what leads to weight gain, brain fog, low energy, and high sugar cravings. Now, I’m not saying a granola bar is “BAD” and should be avoided at all costs. What I AM saying is this: We need to snack SMARTER. To avoid the blood sugar rise and fall. Who here has done some kinda diet where you had to eat 1200 calories, workout 5 days a week, remove all alcohol and sugar, eat no processed food whatsoever, or else you “FAIL”!?
