Great starting point, must be flexible. I prefer 50/20/30 (30% Investing) #nowletsbuildsomething 🧱🏗

I think the rule is a good starting point. Its meant to help people who are not tracking their finances at all.

Would that 50% only be rent or would that include electricity,gas,homeowners/renters ins, food & all that? Or just rent/mortgage alone?

I do 50 /50. Save 50% ( one paycheck per month) and pay all bills and discretionary out of one check. Started this in 1990...has paid off handsomely

I think 1/3 for all household expenses including house insurance tv internet heat hydro. Then 20/4/10 rule for vehicle and 50/30/20 with remaining funds.

thing is if I save. my money then it becomes something for others outwith my control to use. IE government changing rates making my savings worthless system is stacked against you.
