bounce a rubber ball on them, when the sound changes there is an air pocket under the tile. if it is a large tile it will crack under use.

there's an easier way to check, just tap the floor with the handle of a broom. it'll sound hollow

you can check for lose tiles by simply tapping for foot on every tile. if it makes a hollow sound it's no good.
