@kayllaspencer14: i share this sh*t because of the unrealistic standards that society puts on women and in hopes that the moms out there tearing themselves apart will give themselves some grace. whats crazy is that its mostly women doing it to other women. “You’re home all day so theres no reason your house should get messy.” I remember a time when a certain home was clean but the people living in it were misreable. A home full of resentment, yelling and trauma. I refuse for that to be my home. if you need your home to be perfect in order to function as a happy family, then you do you, boo. thats ok. as for me, some days im going to clean and some days im going to veg out on the couch with my novel while my kids watch miss rachel and eat goldfish. if my house is perfectly clean 100% of the time, then you can go ahead and assume im strung out, overstimulated and on edge somewhere because keeping up to that kind of standard with 5 kids is like working overtime while 6 other people destroy all of your work at the end of every day. Im not about that life.
