Even if you don’t live with your parents and are under 24 they won’t help.

Mine is so tricky because my only parent is my mom but she’s in jail so I cannot provide her tax info, even tho she didn’t pay anything

If you were a foster child but your parent got custody back when you were 16 but I still provide and take care of myself, am I independent?

I was in foster care and all I got was a couple hundred dollars per semester for books. I’m still drowning in student loan debt. Being independent doesn’t help much.

Not necessarily having a child. I know someone who claimed this, but lived with her parents and she had to pay aid back.

So the most stu loan $ you can get is the diff of the amt a parent is expected to pay? What if the parent won’t contribute? Does that mean you can’t..
