@discovery: Oceanic whitetip sharks have evolved over hundreds of millions. Heartbreakingly, these magnificent animals are now classified as critically endangered. The one threat they have not been able to withstand is us, humans. Due to overfishing, shark fin trade, and pollution, their numbers are down more than 90% over the last century. In order for oceanic whitetips to have a chance to recover, we humans need to reduce bycatch, limit pollution, and stop targeting their fins.
