Have replaced a ton of them. Also the oil filter housing are notorious for leaking. Oil film will collect in the coolant reservoir if they blow bad enough.

Normally hate Dorman. But I agree…..never had a problem with the Dorman intakes for the 4.6lt.

I put a Dorman on my 06 town car with 96k on it. ok a fresh refill I would overheat in 20 minutes unless I made alot of stops, then it was like 5 minutes

the panther 4.6 is a super reliable car other than the intake. usually once the factory one goes and you change it I haven't heard of many problems out of it again

as long as it doesn't have electronics or sensors, Dorman is fine. otherwise OEM is the only way I go

I put 4 of them on a f150 before I got one that didn’t have a vacuum leak! Don’t know why because I couldn’t see anything wrong with either of them

depending on what heads it has, don't forget to fill the gasket locater holes with a little bit if silicone because it will come back.

I heard the Dorman flows like a pre-PI head 96-98 and the Ford racing one flows like it’s supposed to the Ford one is like 3 to 400 bucks if you can get your hands on it and it’s not backordered
