i lost a family member through a horrific crime, they got 25 years but only had to serve 14, but would be out on licence for the remainder of sentence

If your 18 your an adult (in England) so it should be the same. If you unalive someone life in jail or hanging.

Me personally I agree, but if someone had to kill in self defence like if the person was trying to kill then and they had no choice u think it should be a shorter sentence

The only thing about the “spending life in jail” is that because of the “human rights” they get luxuries in there like tvs, video games etc it’s like a free holiday at this point..

i think the reason the d*ath penalty was abolished is because if people are/were falsely accused they had no chance at freedom upon that discovery- it can get super messy 😖

This country's justice system is awful. There really isn't any justice for the victims as the sentences are very short or not given out at all
