i think comparing them is very informative. it’s a good general gauge of the language speakers’ opinions, often very political, i.e. whose quisine a dish belongs to or what nationality is an author

I sometimes have to refer to Japanese wiki articles and it never even occurred to me to expect them to be a translation of the English.

I once looked at the Wikipedia pages about my home region and found out that there are lots of Low German articles about places that don’t have articles in standard German. Absolutely amazing

I wish I could rmbr a specific ex. But couple times I've found foreign lang Wkp articles, that aren't available in Eng, & ran G-Translate pg on them.
