Be clear about why you're talking with a Bottomline Upfront (BLUF) approach, e.g., "I've noticed us drifting apart, which worries me. I'd love to hear your thoughts." 3. Voice your fears directly, whether it’s fear of blame, anger, or becoming emotional. For example, "My biggest fear is misunderstanding each other because I'm nervous.
