I'm 39 and was got tested at 8 and got diagnosed with it and the school never did anything more with it, my youngest was diagnosed at 7 he gets the amfm system, audiologists comes to school 10times

well 💩, I got tested when I was younger but didn't want to be that kid who needed help in school so I tried really hard to prove them wrong. 🤦♀️funnily enough my cousin became an audiologist in CT last year.

I’m a HIS but my original desire was to become an audiologist. I’m 36 now. Is it too late?? 😩 I love learning about all this stuff but I can’t do anything about it/with it. I’m just older and don’t know that it would be worth it to go through with it. ☹️Any advice?

Auditory processing disorders are different from hearing loss. Correct? People are confused. I understand APD to be neurological in nature.

I couldn’t rly understand ppl w/ accents until I was a teen. I still mishear people all the time, or it takes me a while process what they said.

Took my daughter to a neuro- psychologist for testing. Told them I APD they said “oh that’s not a thing anymore” it’s been driving me crazy. What does that mean?!

My son recently got approved for OT and she said she thinks he has an Auditory Processing Disorder. He also has speech therapy and an EI. He will be 3 next month.
