@pasha: we all know someone who works in tech. because if someone works in tech they always make sure everyone else knows they work in tech and are not a plumber or an administrator or something 😭 why do i know this? because as soon as i got a job at a tech company, my entire personality was centred around it... and then I realised: there was almost no difference between me working in a public sector in 2018 and writing emails and looking at power bi dashboards, and me working in the world’s biggest start-up in 2022 and looking at the same dashboards? anyway if you have a tech role what tech job are you doing? are you developing a technology what exact technology are you developing? is it pivot tables or slideshow transitions? no you do not. we are all marketing girlies sending emails, creating nice presentations, changing colours of cells in excel sheets. exposed. on surface: the work in public sector can be considered as “working in a boring, mundane job” while a customer solutions manager is “thriving in a exciting, innovation-driven fast-paced environment alongside passionate and driven individuals” but in real life - they are both looking at their screen all day and probably deal with some bad people on a daily basis. and the one “in tech” gets snacks, lunches, gym, whilst the one in public sector gets higher super and maternity leave - both options probably balance themselves out anyway foor for thought. also really miss San Fransisco and the Bay Area 🥹 featured here the Apple Park, four sisters houses and Golden Gage bridge 🥰 #jobs #linkedin #comedy
