My mom suffered from MS and passed away in January from the disease. We had a DNR for her. Dignity, comfortability and so much more. Quality over quantity.

Had CPR in my early 30's. The recovery from CPR took longer than the reason I needed it for.

Worked in a nursing home. I was also blown away and saddened at the number of people 90years plus who didn’t have DNRs because thier kids didn’t want them. The nurses hated it.

Also, if they are revived, it is unlikely that those broken bones will ever heal.

People cannot understand what DNR is. Hollywood taught them otherwise and they don't trust the system enough

I had a screaming match with my dad and his siblings because they refused a DNR on my NOF, alzheimers, bedridden, BMI 17 grandma.

This is so important! Every adult should have an advanced directive detailing what they do/don’t want done if unable to speak for themselves.

I'm not that old, however I am chronically ill and always in pain. I should be allowed to say when I'm done fighting this fight. The last thing I want

The quality of life on an elderly patient after CPR can’t be good. I’ve had to do it a few times you hear the bones crushing.😩

I had to do CPR as a nursing assistant in a nursing home and it’s legit one of the most horrifying experiences of my life

But would a paramedic answering a call have a way to be informed of that prior to administering cpr?

Yeah, my grandma was didn’t want to be tied to hospital bed but my aunt had the authority and choose to be her in the hospital. She kept ripping out her tubes and IVs. Finally, my mom got the final -

When my dad was towards the end of his battle with cancer I had to make the hard decision to put him on a DNR. It was just too much to think about what goes into a full code.

I will never forget seeing my dad in the CPR machine. His body was thrashing. I wish they took it off of him before letting me see him pass.

As an RRT, I agree 125%. CPR is awful at any age, especially for premature newborns and the elderly.

My granny was conscious & aware till the end. She didn’t WANT a DNR & she watched what it meant for her own mother. They came in & tried to convince her to DNR daily at the end, just made her upset.
