To be honest, part of the reason I volunteered so much was to help out the moms who didn’t have the time or resources to do the same. The schools and students need volunteers.

I was an awful volunteer. I got fired from being a preschool room mom. I was terrible. I’m a much better lawyer 🤣🤣🤣

100%. It happens particularly in more affluent areas. They look at career moms as less than. No, I just wanted my career.

I volunteered a ton when I was not really working because my kids were small and went back to work when they were older and stopped completely.

I think everything you said about volunteer Mom's kids can be said about the working Mom kid's and some of those Mom's also don't need to work

I really appreciate this post so much. I am highly introverted, and doing this always was so stressful for me. I am a stay at home mom, and finally realized this was not my strong suite.

I was a volunteer mom. So grateful I was able to be a SAHM and be such a big part of my kids' childhood. Felt bad for the working moms who wanted to be there more.

It’s so individual. There are some events I would never miss, some I did for my own benefit/rapport, some I would NEVER do. Do what you value if you can!
