ROAMING HORSES RAID TRASH CANS AND HOLD COOPER ROAD RESIDENTS “HOSTAGE” IN UNEXPECTED NEIGHBORHOOD VISITS Shreveport, LA – A duo of horses has become an oddly familiar sight in a Cooper Road community, where residents say the animals casually roam the streets, graze in yards, and—most notably—dig through trash cans like it’s feeding time on a farm. The horses, believed to belong to a nearby property owner, have made it a routine to trot through the neighborhood as if they own it. Several residents shared stories of being “held hostage” inside their homes, waiting for the horses to finish grazing and move on before they dare step outside. “They don’t bother nobody,” one neighbor laughed. “But you’re not about to walk out with a plate of food while they’re out there either.” Doorbell footage and cellphone videos have captured the four-legged freeloaders sniffing through trash cans, blocking driveways, and even peeking into porches—bringing equal parts inconvenience and comic relief to the area. “It’s almost like they on a schedule,” another resident said. “We just pull out our phones and wait it out. You never know if they’re gonna knock the can over or just stare at you through the window.” While the scenes often spark laughter and viral neighborhood group chats, residents say they do wish something could be done—especially for safety and sanitation reasons. Shreveport Animal Control has not commented yet on whether there have been any formal complaints or planned interventions, but for now, residents say they’ll continue to live on “horse time”—until the next surprise visit. #loveshreveportbossier #Louisiana #shreveportbossiercity #shreveport #shreveportla #caddoparish #horse #horses #horsetiktok #cooperroad
