This can be done with out pulling dash I work for a Volvo shop and I’ve never pulled a dash and I’d do resistor also

take out the throttle pedal then you can get to the connector and the locking tab. don't need to take out the dash. 2009-2015 yiu take out the instrument cluster to get to the power connector and

then again shops just pay and follow computer programs like all data, shoppro , etc , to get hourly "unnecessary " times for mostly simple jobs

why?? its easy work, it takes about 1.5hour to change the fan on volvo with the fan tool. Changed several fans.

That was way overcomplicated, you can undo the latches from driver side and have a partner turn motor from passenger side for you. Just study the replace motor before you start...

it's easy to break some plastic tabs without that tool, but if you have it, dont have to tear the dash out. just takes some yoga practice from us, bigger guys. 😅

I did my 2010 S80 fan blower motor without taking the dash apart it’s in the same location . Took me about 3hrs.
