Its in the knees and toes. If your facing down the slope then if you lift a toe you will turn in that direction. Eventually you will start to get the feeling and can incorporate your knees.

When you want to change from your heel edge to your toe edge. You need to push your front foot toe down and your back foot heel down. Use your shoulders and hips by twisting to where you want to turn
