fuses are inside a sealed case. they are not replaceable if it's the fuse box I'm thinking about.

Power, ground and signal. Dme control the signal/5v and ground wire. The 12v is just from the front junction box.

Some times the power distribution boxes have usable links in them. They are not the typical. Looks like your Hall effect sensors need the 12v supply

Yes, three wire crank sensors have power, ground and signal. Without power the signal is stuck at 5 V.

I think of it as sort of a transistor in the crank sensor. in order for the "transistor" to operate, it needs power/ground. you could use a test light and tap on/off the signal wire while watching

I always look at the diagram first. to figure out if it's a ground side switch or power side. 5v comes from the computer as a bias voltage.
