It's safe as long as you have the car running while you clean the engine. Once you finish cleaning the engine have the car run for about 30 minutes

The engine compartment is literally designed with weather in mind so this is fine as long as you aren't pressure washing into the wires

as I used to do this for a living, yes it's safe to wash the engine, follow the steps in the video and it will not harm your engine, cover any electrical with a plastic bag if your really worried

I wash my hilux all the time like that and get inside with the washer ..carpets,door cards leather seats.. never had an issue apart from a damp arse now n then
