This is one of the most common faults that consumers phone electricians for. The earth Leakage unit is used to protect all appliances and geysers in your household. Some houses have a earth Leakage as their main breaker, meaning all circuits are under protection of the Leakage unit. This is a little more tricky to identify but all you need to do then is to start by switching off all your breakers in your d.b board. Start by switching on your earth Leakage unit. It should stay on now. Then simply switch on the remaining breakers one at a time untill the earth Leakage trips. This circuit breaker is now where your fault lies. If it's a plug breaker, simply unplug all appliances and try again. It could be anything from a damaged wire to a faulty appliance or even a damaged earth Leakage. 90% of the time it's a faulty appliance.
