fact is we still don't understand our own consciousness

there is choice, not free will. most choices we are unaware of but it always comes down to choice

there is no working model as of now for the human brain, involving electrons etc. I believe there is theory that suggest the more you try to know about a electrons position, the less you know. how?

when the concept of free will is accepted to be an illusion, humanity will evolve into a better version of itself

23 orders of magnitude for a quantum effect to effect a molecule, that's important information. So yeah, scientifically free will is not a thing.

😂 you can have some free will within determinism. It’s called compatiblism

Androidson :
Look up “compatiblism” in the free will debate, it’s the most popular contemporary philosophical view on free will

Heuristics. Essentially, your brain uses these mental shortcuts, or heuristics, drawing upon its history of observed patterns and experiences to guide its decisions. You only have free will when you challenge heuristics‼️

Monks of The Way :
you could do some math on how often 28 levels of magnitude happen I think you're saying 28 causes and effects that chain together, that would be really common..

Mister Patsky :
How would randomness even mean we have free will? This misses the point. Making decisions based on our history is crucial to free will, not an argument against it.

A new born baby operates on free will (impulses). Response to stimuli determines behavior. As it grows behaviors and language are learnt.

user160640 :
Exactly there is nothing that will give you free will. The quantum mechanics argument could attack aspects of determinism. But a lack of determinism is even worse for you.

They are assuming that freewill arises from the material world. Ausumptions are not scientific. start from first principles

Yupp. I'm firmly in the camp of pre determinism. Every decision you've made and will make is because of all of the things you've experienced. You can trace that chain events all the way back to the be

He says the onus is on people who believe in free will but it’s equally true for proponents of determinism. He’s playing rhetorical games

See my theory is that consciousness is an emergent property and isn’t actually affected by single neurons but rather a vast network of relationships between firing neurons…

I need a better explaination of randomness because I don't see randomness at all. There are set patterns. You can't put together atoms of hydrogen /1

Free will cannot be explained through quantum physics/mechanics. But pre-determinism doesn’t work with the human mind either. There are really only two pre-determined things in life: death and change.
