@wellrestedweeones: Your baby can learn to fall asleep independently at ANY age! It takes time, practice, and consistency. 🙏💤 If you’ve been feeding, rocking, or holding to ‘drowsy’ or asleep and transferring to the crib you may find that over time it’s something that now has to be done every time to fall asleep. These are all things our baby can’t do for themselves, so we continue to do these interventions because they tend to work well…UNTIL they DON’T. Over time, many babies will start to take more and more rocking to fall asleep or will wake and cry when you try to transfer from the breast/bottle to the crib and then you end up repeating the same thing until they’re finally in a deep enough sleep. BUT, then it happens again at midnight, 2, and 4 am! 😵💫😴 ➕Your baby needs a solid routine that cues their brain that it’s time for sleep, but it’s important that they learn how to fall asleep independently. ➕Meaning awake with eyes open when you lay them in the crib and they fall asleep after being laid IN THE CRIB. What matters is if it’s working for you or not! ‼️ It is possible to have a baby that falls asleep independently and sleeps 11-12 hours overnight! 😴 If bedtime is a struggle or multiple wake ups overnight with lots of effort to get baby to sleep my Well Rested sleep courses can HELP your baby fall asleep independently, wean overnight feeds both breast and bottle, sleep through night, and take more predictable naps! 1:1 coaching starting at 3 months! Personalized and comprehensive support for two weeks! Do you consider a newborn up to 8 weeks or 12? I’ve seen both

I’d like to say that if you choose to rock or nurse your baby to sleep that’s ok too.

How long should I wait before going to the crib to console him? My baby falls asleep under 3-5 mins when rocked but I really want him to learn to fall asleep on his own.

I plan on reading to my daughter while she’s in her bassinet. She’s only 5 weeks old currently. When should I start reading to her at bedtime?
