The end of T2 wrapped up the storyline. They changed the future so the war never happened. All of the “sequels” undo that.

1&2 were great 3 was fine, Sarah Connor was great. I'm not convinced any other movies were even intended to be Terminator.

Id argue T2 and maybe the universal studios ride did finish it. They just opened it back up. People wanted to see the future war but it wasn’t the expectation

To me, the war wasnt the most important aspect. The prior events leading up to the war was more important. That’s why I loved the ending of Terminator 3 so much too.

I agree they never finished the story. We got glimpses of the future war, but never a full movie. Salvation sucked. That’s not the war we saw in part 1 and 2.

Salvation was to be the 1st of 3. It’s just everbody wanted them to rush T-800’s despite those were supposed to come AFTER the first war (which obvi, Kyle Reese had skewed data on). It followed canon.
