@inspiredbyprisfood: Soft Roti Recipe 🫓 Here is a step by step beginners guide to making soft roti’s INGREDIENTS (Makes 8 Roti’s) - 2 cups Golden Cloud Cake Flour - 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil - 1 teaspoon Melted Butter/Margarine - 1/2 teaspoon Salt - 1 cup Boiling Water METHOD 1. Prepare the Dough: - In a bowl, combine the cake flour, vegetable oil, melted butter, and salt. Mix until fine bread crumbs form. - Pour in the boiling water and mix until the dough starts to come together. 2. Knead the Dough: - Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for 5 minutes until smooth. 3. Rest the Dough: - Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a dry bowl. Cover it with a damp kitchen towel and let it rest for at least 30 minutes. 4.Form the Roti: - After resting, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. - Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten them to form discs. - Dust each disc with cake flour and roll them into slightly larger circles using a floured rolling pin. Alternatively, use a side plate to cut out circles if needed. 5.Cook the Roti: - Heat a tava or flat non-stick pan over medium to high heat. - Lightly brush the pan with vegetable oil and place a roti onto it. - Cook for about 20 seconds on each side or until small bubbles start to form. - Flip the roti and cook for another 20 seconds, then flip again for a final 15 seconds. 6.Serve or Store: - Once cooked, transfer the roti into an airtight container or wrap them in a kitchen towel to keep them warm until serving. For The Lamb Mince Filling: 1. Fry 500g lamb mince with 1/2 onion, 1 tsp crushed garlic, and dried mixed herbs. 2. Season with 1/2 tsp salt, pepper, and cumin, and add 1 tbsp chilli powder. 3. Fill half of the roti with mince and add a handful of mozzarella cheese. 4. Fry on both sides until the cheese melts, cut, and serve with a side salad. #GoldenCloud #easterecipes #TikTokcookbook #foodtiktok #softroti #roti
