i do it differently. i praise ppl on particular things i want them to improve when they done it. eg.when they solved something, i praise them on the problem solving part.

“As long as you tried your best” is a very 70’s/80’s thing to say. If you came home with 40%, your parents would say “as long as you tried your best”. 😂 My brother got it a lot in the 80’s.
