yes...the closer to FL the water is more like lake water. if you want the carribean water you have to go further

The keys are not known for beaches , so there aren’t any bad beaches, there are places where you can take a dip , but they aren’t beaches , at least not sandy ones.

I used to live in Miami and miss the close proximity to the Keys! But I agree some beaches aren’t super swimmable

The keys sits on a coral reef so no beaches but amazing boating, fishing and bars. Lived there for over 20 years. It’s a relaxing place to live.
