I was a ref for years while in high school and uni. Most refs quit because of shit pay and abuse from adults who think they are in a professional game.

maybe it’s because most refs quit due to extensive abuse from players that take it too seriously. Be happy that there is a kid who puts their hand up to actually ref, i’ve seen kid refs who are 1/2
