If you’re flying two hours to Spain, don’t recline your seat.. but if you’re flying long haul you absolutely can recline your seat

I’ve had drinks spilled over me as the person infront reclined their seat knocking everything off my tray, I also find that you cannot watch anything on your screen as it faces it down too much 1/2

I think there’s a time and space for reclining. On a long haul flight? 100% recline. Budget ryanair/easy jet 3 hour flight- probably not x

The only time it’s maybe debatable is eating a meal because the trays don’t sit on the table if the seat is back but otherwise do whatever you like, you pay to be able to recline so do it

As a tall person who travels in economy, I am so uncomfortable if the person infront of me reclines. You can’t be sure who is sitting behind you so pls ffs dont recline your seat !!

I think recline but to a certain point and respectfully !! On my way back from New York a person put their seat all the way back and I was watching the telly which i then couldn’t see AT all🙄

I asked the lady in front if she could not recline just for dinner service (she was fully reclined). She says no cause the person in front of her is reclined (they were barely even reclined).‼️

I have never reclined my seat, it always feels so rude to the person behind, what if they’re using their tray? Then you recline and it slants, they can’t use it anymore? Plus it doesn’t actually 1/2

I think it’s rude to recline without checking with the person behind you. Gives them time to finish their drink, re-position their laptop and so on.

I have personally never found it to be more comfortable to recline. The discomfort it causes the person behind me is not worth that. I’m also 6ft1 so get my legs crushed if someone in front reclines.

I feel quite lucky in that every long haul flight I’ve been on, everyone has always followed the same rules. Recline when the lights go out and then when the meals come out, seats straighten up

My opinion is that they need to change the recline mechanism. Make it recline by pushing the seat part forward instead of the back moving back. That way only the person reclining is impacted.

Last week I was on a flight back from Aus - person in front reclined whilst I had my tray out, absolutely no room, felt so claustrophobic and also couldn’t see my TV because it was on a slant :(

I think it’s become more of an issue because the space between rows has become noticably smaller so now it feels so claustrophobic if someone in front of you reclines

I was on a 14 hour flight recently and someone behind me asked me to not recline my seat after the dinner service. I said no you can recline yours too and the person in front of me had theirs down

I always thought it was a common courtesy to not recline your seat! I always felt so rude doing it… I hate making other people uncomfortable and would always feel so guilty I wouldn’t even enjoy it!

Being really tall myself if someone reclines it is a nightmare for my knees, but also my knees will be imprinted in their backs too so it’s equal pain
