@rokrsdriveclub: Learning About Cars For Beginners: Part 1 Twincharging Twin charging is a system that combines a turbocharger and a supercharger together with the intention of getting rid of the weaknesses of each other. So that means eliminating “turbo lag” using the supercharger because superchargers are efficient at low to mid rpm’s while turbos are more efficient in the mid to upper rpm’s. There are 2 main setups. Series which would be the supercharger connected to a medium to large turbocharger and Parallel, which requires a bypass or diverter valve to let the turbo or blower feed the engine efficiently. The main disadvantage of twincharging is the complexity and cost of parts. Some cars that have utilized twining charging are Volvo with their newer T6, T8 and Polestar trims. my book the car bible which makes learning about cars simple, The Zenvo ST1 having a twin charged 7L V8 and Folkvagen cars that use the 1.4L TSI motor.
