@cambridgeuniversity: How do you get cancer treatment out to people living in rural areas? Cambridge PhD student Swetha Kannan has the answer: chemotherapy in a pill 💊 In developing countries like India, there is a lack of effective cancer care in those areas as the most common treatment requires being in a hospital – in a city. What's more, the treatment has severe toxic effects, a two-fold problem which means mortality rates in rural India are twice that of urban India. Swetha is developing a novel solution that aims to solve both. 🏆 This was Swetha's entry to the Falling Walsl Lab Pitch Competition 2023 in Cambridge.
