On his last day with the NewsHour in 1995, MacNeil discussed their coverage with Lehrer, who said they didn't see it as important as other things happening in the world." I was home on maternity leave when all this was going on. It was ALL that was on tv summer of 1994. Soap operas, talk shows, all the daytime tv was preempted for OJ “coverage”. It was insane.
