What About It 🤷‍♀️ :
I work with toddlers and one of them was deaf. He was frustrated because he didn’t know sign and he couldn’t understand us but we couldn’t understand him either. I was so frustrated with his parents😞

Soo important to me. We started teaching my son when he was learning to talk and we all know a little! It should definitely be a requirement in public education!

I think ppl should learn ASL regardless… I had to start ASL with my kid due to speech delay and I wish I kept it — looking to enroll either in the Fall or next spring

Before my parents had any idea I was HoH, my mom used a bit of sign language to communicate with me since I had trouble speaking- I don’t remember any of what I learned but I think it was helpful for-

I started learning sign language not just so I can talk and communicate with deaf people. I also was interested in learning it. I wish I learned when I was younger.

I think that it should be taught along with your first language because there's enough people who sign where it's needed for everybody to be able to communicate
