@expressyourselfblackman: Sometimes men want to do more, but can’t due to being at capacity with other things in their life (work, family, school, etc.). In those moments it’s important to be understanding, not demanding. I’m not saying women aren’t supposed to have standards or needs, but I am saying that there needs to be a certain level of grace, empathy and care in how those standards and needs are communicated when a man is at capacity. And as men we need to know when we are at capacity and communicate that openly, so there’s alignment. We can’t expect our partners to know if we don’t communicate it.
