![Early Saturday morning Israel launched retaliatory strikes on military targets in Iran. PBS News’ Nick Schifrin breaks down what we know about Israel’s strike and the questions surrounding what’s next. Israeli officials confirmed to Schifrin that they hit two targets: air defense and missile production. Israel’s retaliatory strike was a response to Iran's ballistic missile attack earlier this month, when Tehran launched 180 ballistic missiles at Israel. According to Israeli officials, the main intention for these strikes was to convey that if Iran were to attack Israel again then their air defense would be offline.
