@sensiahealth: 🥊 Ding Ding Ding 🥊 As an allied health clinic, Sensia prides itself on its collaborative resources and understanding between disciplines. A great example of this is the notion of a child skipping crawling before walking. Physiotherapists are typically not concerned with this as this not an integral prerequisite for walking, a major focus of Physio. However, OTs stress that it's important that children crawl first as it helps build fine motor skills, upper body strength and hand-eye coordination. Having a mutual understanding between disciplines is a major part of how we conduct therapy here at Sensia, and a big part of why multi-disciplinary clinics have an upper hand when advice to clients. 💪 Had to give this to the OT's this time, and whilst our PT would say crawling is not a prerequisite to walking, she still sees the importance it has in building upper body strength. #sensiahealth #therapy #occupationaltherapy #physiotherapy #physio
peds pt here! i say it is important because we are meant to look at the child as a whole and not just our specific scope of practice! crawling is good for hand-eye coordination and strength and
