As a hair surgeon, I don’t usually recommend multivitamins unless bloodwork shows a deficiency. They can cause more problems than benefits, and there are better options for hair loss.

I was prescribed oral minoxidil and finasteride. What do you think of these especially as a women? I see many negative side effects from finasteride in women that some physicians will not prescribe.

As a hair surgeon I don’t recommend using a multivitamin unless you get a blood test first to understand what your actually deficient in. Only then consider taking a multivitamin. I’ve seen too many patients taking multivitamins when they do not need to.
